What We Do

Ship chartering is the process by which a cargo owner or trader secures the exclusive use of a vessel — or part of a vessel — for the transportation of goods. Aroos al Mohit acts as your professional intermediary throughout this process: we source suitable tonnage, negotiate the commercial terms on your behalf, and manage the fixture through to completion.

Our value lies not just in finding a ship, but in finding the right ship, at the right price, on the right terms — and then ensuring every word of the charter party protects your interests.

Tailored to Your Requirement

Every cargo is different. Every trade has its nuances. We advise on the most appropriate charter structure for your specific situation.

Charter Type Description Best Suited For
Voyage Charter A vessel is engaged for a single voyage from a loading port to a discharging port. The shipowner bears the operating costs; the charterer pays a freight rate per tonne or a lump sum. Spot cargoes, trial shipments, irregular trade flows.
Time Charter The charterer hires the vessel for a defined period — weeks, months or years — and pays a daily hire rate. The charterer controls the commercial deployment of the vessel during that period. Regular cargo programmes, seasonal requirements, trading flexibility.
Bareboat Charter The charterer takes full operational control of the vessel, including crewing and maintenance. The owner provides only the hull. Long-term arrangements only. Operators seeking effective ownership without capital outlay.
COA (Contract of Affreightment) A long-term agreement to carry a series of cargoes between agreed ports over an agreed period, using vessels nominated as required. Rates and terms are pre-agreed. Regular bulk traders, fertilizer importers, grain traders.

A Disciplined Process from Brief to Completion

A transparent, professional process that keeps you in control at every stage.

01
Cargo Brief

You provide us with your cargo details: commodity, quantity, loading and discharging ports, laycan window, and any special requirements. The more detail, the faster we move.

02
Market Search & Screening

We simultaneously canvass our private owner network and the open market, screening vessels for suitability — age, flag, class, trading history and cargo capability.

03
Shortlisting & Presentation

We present a shortlist of suitable vessels with indicative freight rates, vessel particulars, and our market commentary and recommendation.

04
Negotiation

We negotiate directly with owners — freight rate, laycan, loading/discharging terms, demurrage rate, cargo exclusions — until we have the best achievable terms.

05
Charter Party & Fixture

We review the full charter party or fixture recap, clause by clause, to ensure your interests are protected. Once agreed, we confirm the fixture formally.

06
Post-Fixture Support

We remain your point of contact through the voyage — available for NOR tendering queries, laytime calculations, demurrage disputes and operational issues.

The Aroos Al Mohit Chartering Advantage

In a market where speed and relationships determine outcomes, our deep owner network and market knowledge consistently deliver results that commodity traders, importers, and exporters cannot achieve independently.
